  • Where is RTO Insider based?

RTO Insider LLC (publisher of RTO Insider, ERO Insider and NetZero Insider) is headquartered in the Washington, DC area, with correspondents strategically located across the country. We have built our enterprise from the ground up here in the United States. Our technology infrastructure is in the cloud like everything else. If you need to whitelist our IP address, here’s the list:

  • What kind of subscriptions plans do you offer? How much do they cost?

We offer two types of subscriptions to RTO Insider. Individuals can choose between our Newsletter PDF Only plan (which includes our weekly wrap-up and 10 articles on our site each month) and our Newsletter PDF Plus Web plan (which includes the weekly wrap-up and unlimited access to the content at rtoinsider.com). There is one paid plan for both ERO Insider and NetZero Insider, which includes unlimited access. We also offer combination plans if you want more than one channel. Want more information? • How many articles can I see on your site before I commit to spending money?

Anyone can register for free to read up to two articles each month in all three publications (for a total of six stories each month). We also offer free, no obligation trial subscriptions (which provide access to five stories in each channel for 15 total over two weeks).

  • How often do you publish?

We publish news daily on weekdays and may publish on weekends for breaking news. We publish our weekly wrap-up on Tuesdays and send a link to it with that day’s “Today @ RTO Insider” email with the content just published. We send an email on Wednesday mornings with links to the previous week’s NetZero Insider coverage and do the same on Friday for those interested in ERO Insider news.

  • Who are your writers?

Our writers are experienced business journalists with expertise in energy and utilities. See About Us.

  • Who are your subscribers?

Some of our subscribers are “in the room” along with us, some can’t attend every meeting – or any meetings. Someone once referred to them as the “electricity brain trust.” They don’t want to read what someone else thinks, they don’t want a rehash of a press release or summary of the latest research. They want to arrive at their own conclusions. But to be fully informed, it helps to hear an unbiased view of the conversations when industry stakeholders gather. That includes conferences and webinars as well as meetings in the RTOs and ISOs, at NERC and across the country at state capitols and regulatory agencies. To read what some have said, see Why Subscribe?.

  • How do you track my usage?

  • What payment methods do you accept?

Individual subscriptions can be purchased directly on our site using a credit card. We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. We are also happy to work with subscribers who would prefer to pay by check or ACH. Contact our sales and support team at support@rtoinsider.com.
