MISO is seeking final stakeholder opinions before it makes an April filing to comply with FERC’s directive that RTOs open wholesale markets to DER aggregations.

MISO says that aggregations of distributed energy resources lining up for its wholesale markets must wait until the end of the decade before gaining entry.

The NEPOOL Markets Committee approved ISO-NE’s proposed compliance filing to implement FERC Order 2222.

MISO will use its electric storage resource participation model as the basis for DER aggregation participation, scrapping an earlier plan.

MISO said it will probably use its existing affected system study as a model to study interconnecting DER aggregations under FERC Order 2222. 

NYISO discussed its plans to comply with FERC Order 2222 with stakeholders ahead of a July 19 compliance filing deadline.

MISO has debuted a compliance plan with stakeholders on how it will bring distributed resource aggregations into its markets pursuant to FERC Order 2222.

ISO-NE’s winter wholesale market costs totaled $2.33 billion, a 31% increase from the previous winter driven by higher energy costs.

MISO said that it will skip over the participation of small DER aggregations in its FERC Order 2222 compliance plan in order to simplify the market design.
