FERC reiterated that non-transmission owning members of SPP are still subject to a $50,000 deposit for if they withdraw from the RTO.

FERC rejected a request by SPP and its load-serving entities to rehear its order that eliminated the RTO’s membership exit fee for non-transmission owners.

FERC said SPP’s proposal to add “load-serving entity” and “non-load-serving entity” to its membership agreement became effective due to its lack of quorum.

SPP may ask FERC to lower its exit fee in response to the commission’s April order that the RTO eliminate the fee for members who are not TO or LSEs.

SPP is stepping up its bid to offer market services in the Western Interconnection, with interested participants approaching the RTO for more details.
