Several stakeholders presented proposals for how PJM could address accelerating load growth as the Critical Issue Fast Path process on large load growth wraps up its second phase.

PJM and its Monitor presented a joint proposal to rework the balancing operating reserve  credit structure to address a scenario they say results in generators receiving uplift payments despite not following dispatch orders.

PJM said “Data Center Alley” in Northern Virginia needs more transmission to support a 4-GW increase in load, despite $230 million in pending projects.
